Drawn from Edo North, Central and South, members of Edo Local Hunters converged at the Etsako West Council Hall on Saturday to dialogue a way forward in view of engendering Harmony amongst all the various constituents of the body.
It should be noted that as a result of the current security condition of the Nation Nigeria, local hunters have beyond their games chase delve into securing the territories of the various communities in Edo state in recent times.
In view of ensuring that the bushes are free from the habitation of criminal elements, they have continued to comb bushes, rid same from menacing herders and provide security for local farmers.
However, the multiplicity of bodies bearing the Hunters numenclature across the length and breadth of the state gave rise to series of concerns that brought about the meeting that held on the 4th of September at the EWLG Council Hall where leaders across the senatorial districts together with their members moved a motion for harmonization to ensure that hunter oriented activities are coordinated.
Moreso, harmonization would ensure that criminal elements do not operate under the guise of Hunter or hunting in bushes across the state.
This motion was adopted by all who saw the need for uniformity and scheduled a meeting to hold in Benin where the unification move will be finalized in October.
The meeting was attended by Sir Amos Amadi the general Chairman of Edo South Hunters, Chief Umar Abdulkadir, general Chairman of Edo South Hunters together with leaders and members from Edo Central.
