Tpl. A.Z. Al-Hasan, Ag. Rector of Auchi Polytechnic has Received South Korean Ambassador to the Federal Republic Nigeria on Friday at the Polytechnic's Auditorium.

His Excellency, Kim Young-Chae paid a courtesy visit to Auchi Polytechnic and had a swell time with staff and students of the citadel of learning who treated him to a memorable stay.

Kim in his Keynote address talked about the nitty gritty necessary for development and urged the Nigerian Government to pay keen attention to the growth of Asia in view of achieving economic development.

He stated that South Korea did not just become the 10th largest economy of the world by accident and unveiled the blueprint that led the once very poor nation to economic prosperity.

"For an economy to grow Nigerians must be deliberate about delivering quality Education and invest heavily on Agriculture. Nigeria must begin to operate an Export Oriented Industrial Policy." he said.

Mr. Kim talked about the problem of corruption, stating that though the vice cannot be totally eradicated, every administration must genuinely set up measures to reduce it to the minimal by punishing offenders and rewarding ethical practices openly for all to see.

Speaking on the importance of consistent growth, he said, "our vehicles were ones called lemons because of the poor quality and that they were not sustainable at the time, today, South Korea is a major exporter of Vehicles, Petroleum products (even though we don't have petroleum as a natural resource), mobile gadgets and the list goes on. We have Nissan, Samsung _our products and services are sought for the world over. Nigeria can achieve this feat and more if we are deliberate about development."

The Polytechnic community led by Tpl. Abubakar Zakariya Al-Hasan, Ag. Rector of Auchi Polytechnic appreciated the Ambassador for his decision to visit Auchi Polytechnic amongst all the academic institutions in the country to deliver a timely speech which if followed will better the lot of Nigerians and Nigeria.

Featured at the event were the African Traditional Dance, Piloli, the Korean chorography and presentation by the Nigerian Model United Nations Society (NIGMUNS) an arm of the United Nations representing Korea in Auchi Polytechnic.

Anchored by Mrs. Oguboyowa, Dr. Godwin E. Ihionkhan, Registrar of Auchi Polytechnic, Dr. Muhammed Obomeghie, Dean of School of ICT, Barr. Garuba, Mr. Oshiobugie, the Polytechnic's P.R.O and other top management staff together with Executives of the Students Union Government were present.
