Afeakhuye @20: Iyekhai Zone of Afeakhuye Unveils Market Project

 


The Iyekhei Zone of Afeakhuye age group which was inaugurated in 2002 has unveiled her market project 20 years after initiation into manhood on Saturday amidst fanfare in Utsokwili village of Auchi Sacred Kingdom.

According to Sir Zacks Oyarebu,  the project coordinator and member of the age group,  Afeakhuye Market project was originally initiated on August 2014,  to mark their 10th anniversary but situations beyond the control of the group and the nature of the project redirected the actions of the executives to make it a 20th anniversary project.


The facility is to take the form of an ultra-modern market as was displayed by the group in a banner.

It comprises of 33 open shops, 16 enclosed shops each on the the left and right wings of the open space and another set of 33 enclosed shops on the far right of the space. A set of restrooms are also attached to the market market project with a promise to sink a borehole facility which will provide water for the market users. 

A donation session was staged to help raise some monies to pull through the borehole project and to attend to other critical needs of the market in the interim.




The occasion was graced by notable personalities among whom was H.E, Comrade Adams Aliu Oshomole duly represented by a team led by the Daudu of Utsogun Heritage Zone,  Alhaji Jim Garuba among other Political bigwig in Afemai land.

Highlight of the event was the unveiling of the market's signpost which was done by Chief Adamu a.k.a Etsako, Chairman of the Event represented by Mr. Alloy Anakhwagbor together with  Shiekh Inu Mukhtar (the Seriki Samali of Auchi), Chief Kola (the Oshiogwe of Auchi) among others.
