Edo North Hunters Association, Auchi Chapter Entertains NAHCON Commissioner, Prince Suleiman Momoh

 

A traditional organization comprising of local hunters drawn from the various communities in Edo North have through its Auchi branch paid a courtesy visit with the intent of entertaining the Defender (TAKOBI) of Auchi Sacred Kingdom , Chief Prince Suleiman Momoh on Wednesday at his residence in Auchi.

The occasion was sponsored by Chief Alh. Muhammed Ezolomhe, the Ölèlhokhu of Auchi who told all that it had become necessary for him to enjoin and employ the traditional services of Auchi Hunters in recognition of the fact that the TAKOBI of Auchi has  done a lot for people and is worthy of being appreciated through a rendition of local tunes from drums and vocal cords.


He thanked Prince Suleiman Momoh for his efforts at ensuring that a lot of persons got a shot at embarking on Hajj (Pilgrimage) in the just concluded 2022 Hajj exercise and challenged the NAHCON Federal Commissioner to do more in the area of jobs for youths.

Chief Muhammed opined that though the community has no elected people in Government, if more and more Auchi sons and daughters who are well to do decide to give back to the community from which they come, Auchi would become better.

Speaking in the course of the event, Chief Umar Abdulkadir, the Ogie'swa of Auchi and chairman of Edo North Hunters thanked His Royal Highness, Alhaji Aliru H. Momoh, Ikelebe III, Otaru of Auchi for his constant strides and prayers towards ensuring that Auchi and her neighboring communities get better in terms of security, economy and other social dynamics of human endeavors.
He stated that Prince Suleiman Momoh has in no small measure contributed towards complementing the efforts of the Otaru through the motivation of Hunters and Local Vigilante Squads in view of securing lives and properties and enjoined all to put the prince in prayers.



On his part, Chief Prince Suleiman Momoh appreciated the visit and entertainment with joy and prayed for a sustainable relationship between local security personnel like the hunters and vigilante together with the police and other sister agencies in and around Auchi noting that such relationship will if complemented by the people will bring a lasting solution to security challenges. He seized the opportunity to call on other well meaning sons and daughters of the Sacred Kingdom to join hands in the collective project of ensuring that youths are gainfully engaged while appreciating Chief Muhammed Ezolomhe for the recognition.

Prince Suleiman Momoh is a Commissioner; Planning, Research, Statistics, Information and Library Services (PRSILS) at the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

He doubles as the Imam II of Auchi Sacred Kingdom.
