Under the Aegis of 'Edo Girls are Fly', Munirat Anto Lecky, CEO of the Life Wire Project (an NGO) in collaboration with itel delivered learning materials worth millions of Naira to staff and students of Ekhei Girls Secondary School in Auchi on Tuesday.
This she said was in a bid to facilitate the exercise of teaching and ease the process of learning.
The event which was held at the EGSS assembly ground featured a pep talk session where Dr. (Mrs) Rehi Jimoh dealt on the importance of education for the girl child and warned against detractors and distractions that could lead them astray _away from their dreams and aspirations as nation builders.
Speaking with AUCHI BLOGspot, the former Bbnaija Housemate explained that the old narrative which hitherto painted Edo state as the hub of girl child trafficking is what the Edo Girls are Fly movement is out to erase and replace with a new picture where the true potentials of Edo girls/young women will be enhanced through various academic and vocational programmes.
She explained that Edo Girls are capable of taking Edo state and by extension Nigeria to the promise land if given the right motivation through proper education, exposure and push _a task she is set out to achieve.
Mrs. Imhokhai, principal of EGSS on behalf of of the beneficiaries expressed elation and profusely appreciated the grandchild of late Chief Yaro Lecky for the kind gesture and extolled the virtue of good parenting in Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Lecky (Anto's parents) for grooming her in the way she has taken.
Anto is a girl child's welfare advocate who is poised at ensuring that young women are empowered for the good of society.
She has in the recent past collaborated with MTN Nigeria to provide furniture necessary for creating a conducive learning environment for Pupils and Staff of Uchi Primary School.
