Chief Fatai Aliu: celebrating the uncommon philanthropist

Today we celebrate a son, brother, father, a man on whose head lies many hats. Here is one deserving of endless rain of encomiums but has resorted to being unassumingly humble, down to earth and genuinely concerned about the wellbeing of mankind to the point that he has gone out of his way, out of his comfort to fend for the less privileged in the society to the Glory of God and for the benefit of mankind. 

For those who may not be well acquainted with the man Fatai, the body of text below is a summary of his person, what he stands for and what he does.

Dr. Fatai is a legal luminary of noble repute, an IT guru, a formal chieftain of the Peoples’ Democratic Party in Edo state and a giver that is building people.

As a Professional Lawyer, the son of Afe’ekpe (Akpekpe) village in Auchi Sacred Kingdom has in no small measure helped to get Justice for those who hitherto were denied. The IT guru is today instrumental to the successful running of businesses, institutions and multimillion corporations by providing innovative digital solutions as the only Digital ID Specialist in Africa serving clients within and beyond the African continent. This he does through ‘Fata Super Systems Ltd’ amongst a host of other companies under his management as a Chief Executive Officer.

The philanthropist as we have come to know was a Politician who after having studied the political atmosphere realized that the best way he could truly serve the people was to drop the limitations imposed by the game of politics and politicking in our clime, break away and facilitate breakthrough for deserving people without bias/prejudice.

Today, there is no gainsaying the fact that he has excelled in the endeavor of empowering people much more than those elected to use state’s resources to create impact.

In view of gainfully engaging talents, promoting skills and empowering struggling youths, Barr. Fatai established the Fatai Dragons and Dragoness Football Clubs. The Division one Club in the Nigerian Professional league has not only taken a good number of youths from the streets but has engendered the exportation of exceptional local players from Nigeria to continue their profession in Europe and America.

  

As a result of his genuine concern and subsequent action taken in view of bettering mankind, the man has gained favor in the sight of his Creator and this is evident in the flourishing of his businesses. He has also been decorated with numerous awards and chieftaincy titles as the Obadijie (the King has come) of Ebelle, the Aidenomo of Ekperi and the Edenokun of Ewu.

My first encounter with Chief Fatai Aliu was during the 2021 Amodu Shuabu’s Memorial Football event held at the University of Edo, Uzairue. His unassuming nature didn’t draw on him any attention but there sat an internationally recognized entrepreneurial icon, a man through whom many have actualized their dreams, one who has fought for the course of justice, one who abandoned his political ambition for the greater good of impacting lives without limitations, a sports’ investor cum enthusiast and what’s more, a detribalized Nigerian who accommodates youths from all backgrounds.

He called me by my name and urged me to keep doing the good I’ve set out to do with the assurance that he is a big fan of all that is done via AUCHI BLOGspot. I was puzzled. Puzzled not because of what he had to say but because of his soft-spoken yet emphatic tone plus the way he got my attention through my name _Enaholo.

Out of curiosity I asked around and the reviews I got are all that have culminated into this piece.

Today we are celebrating the birth of a man who has among many other things done;

1.      Sponsorship of sporting events: hosting of Annual Inter-faculty Competition at Ambrose Ali University.

2.      Establishment of the Ambrose Ali University Press Ltd

3.      Creation of a Skills Acquisition Center for the Less Privileged in Owan West Local Government Area.

4.      Institutionalization of a five hundred thousand Naira (#500,000) yearly endowment fund for the Best Student of Entrepreneurship in Edo University, Uzairue.

5.      Donation of learning and instructional materials to schools

6.      Doling out of Palliatives to the less privileged during the Covid-19 Lockdown and so on.

 

The Author of Political Trepidations in Nigeria and Pre-Accident Solutions for Child Safety in Nigeria is an Awardee that has been decorated by a multiplicity of disciplines, institutions, organizations and bodies _locally, nationally and internationally.

Worthy of mention amongst many others are; Honorary Doctorate Degree in Philosophy and Philanthropic Management (Freedom University, Pottstown, United States, 2017), Fellow, England Institute of World Economists (2017), Road Safety Publishing and Humanitarian Services Award (Geneva, 2015) Fellow, Chartered Economist of Nigeria (2009), National Order of Merit NOM (2019) Accolades Award of Excellence (2010), Education cum Societal Development Advocate (2017), etc.

Indeed, it is in view of the massive impact Chief Barr. Fatai Aliu has had, is having and will continue to have on the society that we (together with people, bodies, institutions, corporations the world over) are celebrating the son of Auchi Sacred Kingdom on this day of his birth.

 We are happy and proud of his person and actions in all ways. Since there is no better reward for Good deeds other than Good, we pray that God the Giver of life will continue to fuel his being with positive energy, good health, more prosperity and make the rest of his days the best of his days.
