Otaru of Auchi Erects and Commissions the Biggest Mosque in Southern Nigeria

His Royal Highness, Alhaji Aliru H. Momoh, Ikelebe III, Otaru of Auchi Sacred Kingdom has built to completion and commissioned the largest Islamic worship center in the whole of Southern Nigeria.

Known as the Auchi Arafat Mosque, the monumental edifice and tourist attraction is located in Auchi, the headquarters of Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State, a cosmopolitan town that doubles as the political headquarters of Afenmai land.

The magnificent structure boasts of an accommodation capacity of 10,000 persons and is structurally stratified in the form of an appealing edifice of 5 Domes, 4 Towers attached to the main building, a women's wing and a convenience building.

His Royal Highness together with Federal and state government representatives, traditional and religious leaders, captains of industries, turbanned chiefs and members drawn from within and outside Auchi commissioned the project for use on Friday the 7th of January 2022.

Here, the Friday (Jummah) service was held immediately after His Highness opened the Mosque officially for use.

The day's sermon which centered on contributing to the course of Allah by helping to build worship centers stressed the need to be charitable and committed to driving home developmental projects.

His Highness while speaking to Pressmen informed all that the project is dedicated to God Almighty who made the project possible, stating that the mosque is the light of Auchi that was divinely inspired and has come into fruition.
