All who once represented Etsako Federal Constituency in the world of competitive football have commenced activities for marking the end of 2021 Gregorian Calendar year and the beginning of 2022.
Activities planned out by the group kicked off with an endurance trek around Auchi metropolis on Thursday.
The event took off from Ikelebe Sports Arena a.k.a Public Field as members led by the president, Sir Sedik Umoru proceeded through UBA junction down to Otaru Road and up Poly Road (Iyekhei) where they navigated the ICE/Igbei road axis back to Ikelebe Sports Arena.
Speaking to AUCHI BLOGspot, Sedik Umoru stated that the endurance trek was just a tip of the series of events to hold in line with activities slated out to end and begin the outgoing year and the oncoming one.
He emphasized the need for physical activities and enjoined those who are yet to register with the association to do so in the interest of getting fit and maintaining good health.
“This is a body of ex professional footballers who at one point or the other in the history of competitive football in Etsako represented our people. That we no longer play football actively does not mean that we have exited the world of sports and physical activity.
Though some of us have aged tremendously, a cursory look will reveal to you that we are all fit, hale and hearty because we still engage in activities that enhance healthy living.
You can see that our slogan is Fitness and indeed we are all fit.” He said.
The president seized the opportunity to invite all to their Sunday’s outting which will commnice with a football game at Aibotse Field behind Mr. Biggs at 4pm stating that as soon as the match ends, members will proceed to GNL behind NEPA office for a get together where a lot is in stock for entertainment and refreshment.
The Endurance Trekking exercise was streamed live on the platform of AUCHI BLOG from start to finish and it was indeed a fun filled experience in Auchi Sacred Kingdom
