Tragic Exit: Team Osigwe Crashes out of ISF2021 Shamefully

Match Day 08 of the ongoing Iyekhei Sports Festival ended tragically for the Reigning Champions of Iyekhei as the team was disqualified from further competing in the tournament at the end of 1st half on Sunday.

The match which was played at Ekhei Primary school saw both teams (Etesemeh and Osigwe) locking horns in a fierce battle to earn a place at the finals (slated for Sunday the 17th of October).

Etesemeh quickly found the back of the net after few minutes into 1st half of play while team Osigwe came up with a decisive equalizer and pressed further to exact their authority on the Yellow boys as champions (but without being able to find the back of the net aside the equalizing goal).

As soon as the whistle was blown, signaling the end of 1st half, an aggrieved player who was earlier shown two yellow cards simultaneously (equalling a red) on the bench rushed into the pitch of play to manhandle the referee.

This led to a disruption of the match as the Referee ended the game to earn team Osigwe a disqualification from the competition.

Team Etesemeh who emerged victorious as a result of this occurrence boasts of 8goals already and has ascended to the finals to face team Ögé for the final bout of the competition.

Consequently, team Aimeonikhare who lost to Ögé on match day 07 (Saturday) has no contender for the position of 3rd place in the tournament.

Remember that in the previous edition of ISF, team Odikoko committed the error of beating up Match Officials _an incidence that disrupted the games and led to a break during which reviews were made and laws came up to deter further occurrences. The team currently serves a 2year ban from the ISF.
This led to a formulation of rules wherein rule number 11 clearly spells out that, "ANY TEAM (FAMILY) WHO DISRUPTS ANY ONGOING MATCH THAT LEADS TO THE TERMINATION OF THE MATCH WILL AUTOMATICALLY LOST THE MATCH AND FACE A DISCIPLINARY ACTION FROM THE ISF COMMITTEE WITHIN THE NEXT 3DAYS."

Will team Osigwe be made to face a 2year ban like previous Offenders like Odikoko and Irega?

The answer to this question will come out at the dawn of the 3days that have set out by the ISF committee to study all ramifications of the matter.
