No PDP Ward Congress in Etsako West _Duru

The recently concluded ward congresses of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Edo State, meant to elect party executives to run affairs of the party at the various ward levels across the state, did not hold in Etsako West LGA.
This revelation was made by the leader of the PDP in Etsako West LGA, Alhaji Yusuf Duru
He made this known in a chat with journalists in Auchi, headquarter of Etsako West LGA.
According to him, there was neither supply of election materials nor the presence of officials who would conduct the exercise.
[Stating that the non conduct of the Congress exercise in Etsako West LGA is akin to putting the party's development in abeyance, Alhaji Duru added he strongly believes that some party leaders in the state have a hidden agenda to impose unpopular persons in charge of the party's affairs in those places where the congress did not hold.
He assured that the party's leadership is not taking the issue lightly.
He said, "The leadership of the party has forwarded a formal petition to the Appeal panel. This is basically to register our grievances. We believe the Panel will judiciously look into our case and dispense justice accordingly. The outcome of the Panel's decision will determine the fate of PDP in the area".
Alhaji Duru's position on the conduct of Ward Congress, however, contradicts what the chairman of PDP Congresses in Edo state,HE Seyi Makinde of Oyo state panel told newsmen.
Addressing journalists on the extent to which his committee was able to execute its assignment, governor Makinde said the congress took place in all the 192 wards across the state.
