General Hospital Sold?

Unverified claims about the sales of Auchi Central Hospital (General Hospital) filtered in as sources claimed the facility has been sold to Edo State University Uzairue by the Obaseki led administration of Edo State.

AUCHI BLOG received several accounts from different callers who claimed that they had to discharge their patients from the hospital because of the recent development.

These callers were unanimous in their views about the new ownership of General Hospital stating that the people of Auchi must not sit back and allow Governor Obaseki take the facility from them.

Auchi Blog & Services is reporting authoritatively that Central Hospital Auchi has not been sold to anyone as claimed by many who have called to vent.
Having spoken with various authorities in the matter, it is easy to see the reason for the misconception.

Central Hospital Auchi (General Hospital) will now serve as a teaching hospital for Edo State University Uzairue and this rather than call for apathy should be a thing to celebrate as the status of the health facility will now change positively with noticable upgrades.

Dr. Imoisili, MD of the Hospital while responding to questions posed by The Community's Eye stated that the new development is one that will be beneficial to the people of Auchi and her environs as a result of the upgrade in equipment as well as the presence of ample staff (Doctors and other medical staff).

The MD also explained that as a result of the upgrades and staffing together with the expected better service delivery, cost of service may go up --but this would mean that the cost of going to tertiary medical institutions far away will no longer be there because there will be no need to travel for medical reasons when General Hospital can comfortably handle all medical concerns.

"Its all about change of leadership. But it will benefit  the community more as there will be more experts, more equipments, more staffs, more efficiency in service delivery as time goes.
There may be increase in price of services though. Your people with time may have no need of going to ISTH again as they develop the hospital to a  teaching hospital standard" Dr. Imoisili said.
