Declares Auchi Old Central Masjid Reopened, Observes Salaatul Zuhr

His
Royal Highness, Alhaji Haliru Momoh (Ikelebe III), the Otaru of Auchi Sacred
Kingdom has on Tuesday the 7th of January 2020 declared the reopening of Auchi
Old central Mosque.
The
Old Mosque which has undergone massive rejuvenation since the 3rd quarter of
2019 into January 2020 has gained so much attention and attraction for the modern
touch it has received in the hands of her renovators.
High
point of the event was the arrival of the King at about 2pm in time for the
Muslim Afternoon Prayers known as Zuhr. He was accompanied by the Daudus of the
various villages in Auchi as well as the former Chairman of Etsako West Local
Government Council, Hon. Yakson, Alhaji Suleman Momoh (NAHCOM Commissioner) and
a host of other dignitaries.
Having
completed the prayers, Suleman Momoh addressed all that were present about a
meeting that has been scheduled for the council of imams.
“There is going to be a meeting of the Council
of Imams _the sectional and zonal imams and it will be held on Thursday by
10a.m. those invited are the chief imam
of Auchi, imam 1, imam 2, the imam of Arafat mosque, the imam of Utsogun,
Akpekpe, Aibotse, Igbei and Iyekhei. Also, the Daudu of Utsogun is going to be
part of the meeting as well of the management of the old central Mosque…
…inn sha ‘Allah by tomorrow we
shall be climaxing the activities of Auchi Day. As early as 5:30a.m we shall be
at the Arafat Mosque where we shall pray the sunrise prayers after which we
shall inn sha ‘Allah and by the permission of the Otaru, go round Auchi just as
we’ve been doing for some years now. After that we shall then go to the palace
where the main event will transpire.”
He
stated that the reason for the meeting of the council of imams is to fashion
out regulations that will dictate how the newly renovated Masjid will be
managed by the personnel in charge of activities that will henceforth take
place therein, stating that it will be unwholesome for an architectural
masterpiece of this nature to be bastardized by poor maintenance culture. The meeting
will be held at the residence of the Chief Imam of Auchi.
The
chief Imam, Ahaji (Professor) Zakariyau who led the Afternoon congregational
prayers, prayed for the Kingdom as well as the Otaru for the good job well
done. He appreciated the King’s proclivity towards transformation of things for
the good of his people and his appreciation of the finer things of life.
“Alhamdulillah for this great development
under the leadership of HRH Alhaji Haliru Momoh. Money, intelligence and energy
has been spent on this structure. I pray that God rewards all that have been involved
and I pray that all will be as clean as the new look of the mosque”
The
Chief Imam also prayed against the earning of illegal wealth through fraudulent
activities of online scammers and looters, pointing out that such means of
acquiring wealth only lead to the fire of hell. He seized the opportunity to
advise the youths and politicians to desist from such activities so that Auchi
will be clean and better for all and sundry.
