AFTERMATH OF AUCHI DAY FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP COMPETITION _Observation 1

After Utsogun had won the finals against Akpekpe, a situation where angry Akpkpe youths were seen destroying properties at the Ikelebe Sports' Arena, forcing the DJ to pack off, slapping the central Referee (Kaka) and staging a full blown confrontation emerged.

It would have degenerated into an ignoble communal altercation (an unpopular feature Auchi has been distant from) if not for the intervention of the Nigerian Police who had to fir shots in the air to deter warring protesters from pushing further.

It has become a recurring decimal that those of Akpekpe extraction resort to violence whenever they are defeated at the finals of the Auchi Day Football Competitions.

If this trend is allowed to fester, avoidable catastrophy is imminent.

What in your thinking should the organizers(Planning committee) do to curb/forestall this act of shame?

Let's bear our minds on this in view of charting a way forward.
