Auchi
youths and members of an online group on Facebook have on the 21st of December
2019 visited Itsoghena Orphanage home off Iyuku road in the spirit of the
yuletide to gift orphans some basic necessities of life.
The
Big Deal is a group borne out of the instrumentality of the new and social
media to bring young Nigerians together with the sole aim of giving positively
to the society. This group which was formed in the month of August 2019 came up
with the idea of conducting an outreach of giving to the needy and the first
place earmarked for same was the orphanage at Iyuku road, Auchi Edo state.
Members
from both far and near contributed their widow’s might to the tune of N33,000 through Jeremiah Enaholo Kadiri the sole administrator of the group having
thought it wise to do what they could, no matter how small, to ensure that
smiles were lit on the faces of motherless kids in the orphanage home.
Representatives
of the group who were at the venue were well received by the children who were
elated to see them with gift items and songs of praises were sang to God as
well as prayers for the group for giving them a sense of belonging.
Marwan,
proprietor of Al-Mukhtar Schools who is also a member of The Big Deal expressed
happiness over the activities that have led to the final result of the outreach
which he termed as success borne out of the need to make the society better by
giving. He affirmed that givers don’t lack as the act of giving to the society
is that which will lead to the positive change the nation Nigeria needs.
“We give thanks to Almighty Allah Who has
given us life and good health even though some of our deeds do not portray us
as worthy most times. I want to use this medium to urge everyone to from time
to time visit the orphanage because no child wishes to be without parents and
no parent wishes to leave their kids behind in this sinful world.
Our visitation is a renewal of hope
and to give the kids a sense of belonging.
I appreciate everyone who
contributed in one way or the other to The Big Deal’s Outreach 2019 and more
importantly, those who were on ground to participate in the presentation of the
gift items to the kids.
I am positive that as a group of
positive thinking youths, we will sustain this tempo and continue to do the
little we can to change our country positively by giving hope to the needy.” He said.
It
is hoped that the group will embark on another outreach before April 2020 to
widows in a yet to be determined area within Edo North. This is in view of the
fact that Muslims will be preparing to begin the Ramadan Fast.
TBD
is using this medium to call on well meaning members of the society to key into
its agenda to help facilitate the activities of the body for the good of
mankind.
