"Only the Best Will be Taken When Employment Opportunities Come." _ Auchi Polytechnic Rector

Dr. Salisu Shehu Umar, Rector of Auchi Polytechnic has made it known that only the best minds and hands will be employed whenever there is an employment opportunity into the teaching community of Auchi Polytechnic.

The Rector made this remark while responding to an appeal posed by a Part-time staff during a meeting held by management of the School of Evening Studies on Wednesday at the School of Applied Science Lecture Theater.

Responding to the appeal for the Rector to consider part-time staff when employment opportunities come up, Dr. S.S. Umar stated that in view of ensuring that Auchi Polytechnic gets the best hands and minds on the job, only truly competent applicants from the public --including those who are currently at the employ of SES will be considered for employment into the mainstream.

He said that his regime is poised and geared towards repositioning the citadel of academic pursuit in such a way that only the best will be given the opportunity to serve and give quality input in view of uplifting the institution.

Umar made reference to the process he employed in screening staff of SES in the just completed employment exercise into the programme and stated that all who where taken back are those who have truly demonstrated competence in tackling the exercises that played out during the screening.

"We know those who are doing well and shall continue to make the system more competitive for those who are interested in working at the Polytechnic because we can't afford to have people who do not understand what it means to be in an academic environment.
Consideration may be given to those in the SES programme to the extent of their competence and display of requisite knowledge during screening exercises." He said.
