New Commander of 195 Battalion Pays Courtesy Visit to Otaru-in-Council

Major S.J. Ajiya, the new commander of 195 battalion at Agenebode has paid a courtesy visit to HRH, Alhaji Aliru H. Momoh, Ikelebe III, Otaru of Auchi Sacred Kingdom together with his Village heads, Chiefs and Community Stakeholders at the OiC on Sunday to familiarize himself with the community.

The commander noted that the call was customary and more so an important exercise at ensuring that all areas within the jurisdiction of his command are met in view of establishing cordial relationships between the army and civilians.

Maj. Ajiya explained that the entire Edo North which comprises of 6 Local Government Areas are within his jurisdiction and his mandate is to collaborate with all authorities at ensuring that criminal elements and circumstances capable of being threat to the peace of Afenmai people are discouraged by all means necessary to preserve peaceful coexistence of all parties in the area.

He assured the Otaru of Auchi of his commitment to ensuring that his mandate is fulfilled and stated that within the first one month of his posting to Edo state, he has carried out security exercises across the various communities in Edo North such that his men are now well prepared to serve in opportune time.

The major called on His Highness to always call for his support whenever there is a need and that he is ever available to lend a helping hand to the monarch and his people.

On his part, HRH, Alh. A.H. Momoh welcomed Ajiya to Afenmai Land and told the Army Chief that Auchi is a home for him and his men. He informed him of the grandeur blessings of the Almighty Allah upon Auchi simply because everyone who draws breath in the territories of Auchi are by their being there citizens of Auchi Sacred Kingdom and prayed for future successes in the exercises of the army together with other sister agencies.
