Tracka has visited the Sabo-Iyakpi Primary Health Center to access the facility's functionality and has reported that having seen the PHC, there is a lot to be done to make it serve the community it was situated.
The Non-Governmental Organization whose aim is to bring to Nigerians the spendings of government as well as monitor projects being done said that Sabo-Iyakpi PHC has deteriorated so badly that parts of the facility now serve as a motor park.
They called on Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State to give the Health center a facelift in order to ensure that the over 20,000 members of the PHC's host community enjoy the dividends of democracy.
"We visited the PHC in Sabo-Iyakpi community, Etsako West LGA,Edo State, we observed that the facility now used as a motor park.
The only facility that serves over 20,000 residents from 2 communities now in a terrible state that needs government intervention.
The residents have been denied access to healthcare as a result of the dilapidated state.
Pregnant women's put to bed at home because the centre is in a terrible condition.
The facility doesn't have toilets, water, electricity, beds, fence and drugs.
We call on the Governor Godwin Obaseki
and NphcdaNG to renovate and equip Sabo-Iyakpi PHC so residents can access quality primary healthcare, which is a fundamental right." 🖋️ Tracka
Tracka is a community collaborative organization that helps to track capital projects and continues to monitor such projects until they are completed for use. They give progress reports and blow the whistle once projects are abandoned or are poorly executed.
Moreso, in the event that a project is over priced, they give tangible information to explain to the public why such project is a scäm.
To amplify this call, we at AUCHI BLOG & SERVICES are calling on the Edo State Government of Nigeria to heed the call of Tracka and do the needful to better the lives and living standard of the people of Sabo-Iyakpi (South-Ibie).
