The Apex body of Youths membership in Auchi otherwise known as Auchi Dynamic Youths Association (Iyekhei Heritage Zone) has elected a new leadership on Saturday in Auchi, the Political Headquarters of Etsako West Local Government Area.
This is coming after a long period of vacuum in the leadership of the body partly due to the expiration of the previous administration and the need to painstakingly right the fracas that came with that expiration.
In an electoral exercise supervised by respected sons of Iyekhei together with some external observers at Ekhei Primary School on Saturday, the 23rd of July, members of the body elected their preferred candidates in the capacity of a Chairman and His Deputy.
3 candidates (Ahmed, Eremonsele and Inusa) vied for the position of the vice Chairman while 2 (AbdulAzeez and Oseni) slogged it out in pursuit of the Chief executive office.
The results after an open and peaceful exercise came in as recorded below:
A) Vice Chairmanship Contestants
1. Ahmed Abdurahim: 8 votes
2. Egware Eromonsele: 10 votes
3. Inusa Obomeghie: 29 votes
B) Chairmanship Contestants
1. Ikharia AbdulAzeez (Professor): 13votes
2. Oseni O. Alidu (Chiefo): 34votes
By this, (looking at the results above) the duo of Inusa Obomeghie (Vice Chairman) and Oseni O. Alidu (Chairman) were declared winners of ADYA Zone E (Iyekhei) 2021 Election exercise by the Iyekhei Electoral Body.
In his appreciation message, Comr. Oseni O. Alidu otherwise known as Chiefo congratulated all who partook in the contest, those who participated in the electoral exercise and the vast body of Youths in the heritage zone.
He urged all to be open minded because the new administration will be one with open doors for cooperation and collaboration with a promise to do better for the upliftment of ADYA Zone E (Iyekhei).
Thursday, the 28th of July has been fixed for the official swearing in of the elected officials.
