The executive of Etsako West Local Government Council have on Tuesday shown empathy and doled out cash to victims of the BLACK WEDNESDAY accident that claimed a lot of lives, injured many and destroyed properties in Auchi town.

On behalf of the LGA Executives, Chief John Ogiadomhe, Director of Administration who was at Fate Foundation Medical Center in Auchi with personnel of the NSCDC and President of Auchi Dynamic Youths Association, Chief Nurudeen Oseni sympathized with Victims and their families over the unexpected tragedy.

He prayed for the quick recovery of those who survived the accident and for the repose of the souls of those who passed on as a result.

Hitherto Tuesday's visit to the victims, about 6 survivors where at Fate Foundation after the most were referred to ISTH and taken to other Hospitals for quick attention. As at the time of the team's visit to Fate Foundation, only 2 victims were still there as the rest have been discharged.

Emmanuel and Danjuma who happened to be the ones remaining in the hospital got #50,000 each as the LG's contribution to helping with the medical bills of the patients. Here, Chief John Ogiadomhe assured all that those who have been discharged will be contacted and shall receive their share as everyone was captured for the donation.

Talking about measures put in place to forestall future reoccurrences, the Director of Administration stated that creation of Crossbars and speed bumps have been approved and will be done with immediate effect. He told AUCHI BLOG & SERVICES that a crossbar will be positioned at the entrance into Prison road (leading to Otaru Palace and down into the main town) while another will be placed at Igarra road.
It was also gathered that speed breakers will also be created at selected red spots to slow down vehicles in view of averting future dangers.
