Dr. Salisu Shehu Umar, the newly Substantive Rector of Auchi Polytechnic has met with the teaching staff of the institution on Thursday at the main campus' Auditorium for a heart to heart conversation.
The Rector appreciated the members of the academic staff for the support given to the out-gone Ag. Rector and the warm welcome he has received.
He told all present to jettison whatever it is that has transpired in the past and focus on the task at hand in view of making Auchi Polytechnic great again.
Appealing to real and perceived waring factions to shealt their swords, desist from acts capable of retrogressing the institution and shun sharp practices, Dr. S.S. Umar appealed for calm _stating that it is time for fence-mending across board for the purpose of reconciliation so that the Polytechnic community can work as one indivisible force to reckon with.

"you know it's good to take a break. When you discover that you have worked a lot and you are now tired, you need to take a break _thats what I did. God in His infinite grace decided to grant me the break and He is also the One that decided to say 'your break is over, GO HOME!'
To God be the glory I'm here with you.
...Ladies and Gentle Men, we are one. I repeat it, we are one. Being one means watching the back of each other. We don't have any reason to keep malice, we don't have any reasons to have camps _we don't need it. Now that your son is back, I want us to cement that relationship." he said.
Umar called on all to imbibe the spirit of forgiveness and embrace each other as partners in progress for the smooth ascension of the institution from where it currently is to lofty and enviable heights.
The event featured an interactive session where some members of the academic staff union made observations, offered tangible advice and recommended solutions to the myriad of challenges faced by the Institution.
