Academic Staff Call on Newly Appointed Substantive Rector to Avoid Sycophants, Create Enabling Environment for all

Members of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (Auchi Polytechnic Chapter) have called on the newly appointed Substantive Rector to be a true leader for all.

This call was made on Thursday during a meeting with the chief executive at the institution's auditorium in Area 1 of the Polytechnic.

In line with measures put in place to start off on a solid foundation, the teaching staff of the Polytechnic tasked themselves to first be friends with each other and with the Rector by being upright in their modus operandi and shun unethical practices that mar administrations.

Areas around abuse of office in the line of duty were laid bare and some members who spoke dispassionately on same issues tasked the new Chief Executive to not give in to sycophants who will come and tarnish the names of colleagues for unmerited favours.

Others called for Prayer sessions to be put in place so that the land will be cleansed off all manners of desecration that may be raring their ugly heads against the success of the new administration.

The area of Character Reengineering was dwelt on by Engr. Mrs. Oyati who appealed to the Rector to make sure staff are trained on when and how to act or behave in certain work environments.

She stated that the need for attitudinal rejuvenation is dire and urgent attention has to be given to ensure that staff can begin to understand the proper ways to address and handle issues to forestall the numerous cases of fracas that are borne out of poor attitude.

Moreso, ASUP, Auchi Polytechnic Chapter, beckoned on the Rector to ensure that everyone is treated fairly by ensuring that no one is cheated out of what's truly his or hers as this will go a long way in helping the new administration achieve unprecedented milestones in the coming years before it's expiration.

The Rector noted all observations and appreciated the tangible advice gotten with a promise to uphold professional ethics in view of engendering a peaceful and conducive working space for all.

He informed the academic staff that having worked in the Polytechnic for over 20years before his break in 2019, he knows who is what and what is who.

In the light of this, he assured all that what is due anyone will be his or hers stating that none will be cheated as he is not a man that discriminates.
