Auchi Polytechnic: Engr. L.A. Yakubu Bows out of Active Civil Service

Engr. Lemmy A. Yakubu, a Chief Lecturer of the department of Civil Engineering, School of Engineering Technology at Auchi Polytechnic has exited the Polytechnic after 25years of active service.

A send-forth ceremony was organized for him by his school mates and old boys of the Our Lady of Fatima College under the aegis of OLOFOBA on Friday (7th of January, 202) at the School of Engineering Technology premises to mark the special day.

Led by Chief Rahim Momoh current chairman of OLOFOBA (Home Branch), members of the old boys association together with Engr. Lemmy's colleagues toured the institution in a procession as a signal of his bidding farewell to the citadel of learning having actively served in building hands and brains for development in the last 25years.

Speaking to AUCHI BLOG, Rtn. Yekini Sadoh the immediate past president of OLOFOBA (Home Branch) and colleague of the retiring Chief Lecturer told all that Engr. Lemmy is a jolly good fellow who has in no small measure raised a generation of brilliant students(graduates) who are today helping to make life better for the society courtesy of Lemmy's teachings.

Engr. Lemmy appreciated God for the successful completion of his term as a public servant and thanked his colleagues and members of OLOFOBA for the surprise package of a send-forth they manifested.

Speaking on the need to be dedicated to service, Lemmy advised youths to be studious and give their dreams all they have as this has a way of clearing the path for their success.

He stated that coming into the service of the Polytechnic was an easy one for him because he was well prepared by working hard and believed in God for all that would come his way.

"fortunately, I was not even made to do an interview whether oral or written. I got here and within a span of 10years I have risen to the highest rank thanks to diligence and dedication to service in truth and hard work." he said.

He thanked management for the smooth ride and promised to support the institution in any way within his capacity to continue the upliftment of Auchi Polytechnic to lofty heights amongst her peers in academics and research.

Engr Lemmy A.Yakubu was a one time Director of Academic planning, a past Director of Centre for Research and Development, Head of Department, Department of Civil Engineering and was a chief lecturer in Auchi Polytechnic until his retirement.
