Sule Momodu, head coach of Afenmai United Football Club has decried the poor state of Football and other sporting activities in Edo North by expressing dissatisfaction over the neglect of young talents to fend for themselves in the abundance of well to do individuals, groups, organizations who have not shown ample interest in sports development.
Sule otherwise known as Coach Someone on Thursday told AUCHI BLOGspot that the club suffers great neglect but his coaching staff have in view of engaging the young men and taking their minds off criminal tendencies taken on themselves the burden of managing talents in football with minimal resources.
He called on businesses, financial, educational and traditional institutions to wake up and come to the aid of the boys as such is the best way to curbing crimes proactively and empowering youths.
Speaking with Ena Holo on the coming State League and FA, Sule Momodu informed all that the sum of #160,000 is needed to register Afenmai United Football Club’s interest in both tournaments.
“We need #80,000 per tournament so that we can register in the oncoming FA and State leagues.
…the deadline for the registration is February 15th and we have to register our interest in order to show the world that we have great talents in football like you’ve seen here today.” He said.
Coach Someone pleaded with those who have passion in seeing young men grow and become better in what they do to help garner the needed resources necessary for sports development in order to facilitate their dreams for Afenmai’s sporting world.
“We are in dire need of Sporting kits. We had two balls until yesterday when a player kicked one off the pitch during training. We have not been able to find that ball up till now so, as it is now, we have just one ball
that we are managing. We also need jerseys and boots.
…as you can see, the training environment is not even conducive but we have no choice than to make good use of what we have now while hoping for the best “ Coach Someone stated.
Thursday’s training at Aibotse Secondary School Field was live-streamed by www.facebook.com/itsemha and to commence the fundraiser for registering Afenmai United FC at the oncoming FA and State League, AUCHI BLOG & SERVICES pledged the sum of #5,000 as its contribution to the course.
