Chief Prince Ismaila Delta Braimah Ikharo, Seriki Samali of Auchi Sacred Kingdom exemplified in his living days the import of lifting others once lifted.
He woke others once he was awake and today, it's on record that his name has been etched in the marbles of time as a son, brother, father and friend who empowered all who came his way.
I never met him, I never had a word with him and in fact I never really knew him until his passing but truth is, somehow, today I'm a beneficiary of what he stood for through yet other beneficiaries who were and have been in direct proximity with him.
No wonder our big brother, Dr. Mustapha Lecky in his tribute to the Seriki Samali said, "losing the Chief is like being lost at Sea..." This excerpt in no small measure expresses the fact that through charity, uncle Delta had the lives of many driven positively until and even after his transition.
"His greatest weapon was fairness and sacrifice in support to all and sundry, irrespective of ancestry relations. No ONE in the Auchi Kingdom can claim to have risen to such heights by any measures; nor can be claimed to have transformed so many indigens from various villages and quarters of Auchi Kingdom, yet he was never a holder of high Government position." _Dr. Mustapha Lecky
Today, we come together, united by your doings as if you still breathe _and yes you live in our thoughts. Thoughts of your generosity, fairness, care and genuine concern for all sons and daughters of Èvho'Uchi at home and in the Diaspora.
As we come together in remembrance of your times (though we can never forget), we pray the love you showed us, the light you beamed at our lives, the guidance, the care and virtues of life that you instilled in our hearts appeal to Almighty Allah.
May our Lord show you mercy and rest your soul continually in the Zenith of Paradise.
May your times remind us always to support others for truly, that's what life is about.
