His Royal Higness, Alhaji D.Y.E. Kanoba, Egiegbai II of Ekperi Clan has warned that there shall be no hiding place for thieves and that those perpetuating the act of theft will no longer be successful in their criminal activities.

This warning came at the close of Friday's Jummah service in Ugbekpe.

Speaking with elders of the community, the Monarch sent a strong message to all and sundry asking all parents and guardians to ensure that their children and wards put away questionable practices that could lead to crime.

"Ugbekpe is not famous for any negativity. We are our brothers keepers and stealing is not part of our culture.
...any element that is trying to infuse this dangerous trend in our lands shall be dealt with to the full wrath of the law as henceforth, their activities shall no longer be shrouded in secrecy." He said.

HRH, Alhaji D.Y.E Kanoba prayed for the continuous positive growth of all the villages in Ekperi land and called on Almighty God to cleanse the land off elements that are capable of wrecking havoc in whatever capacity.

The local Vigilante and Police have also been put on high alert to ensure that criminal activities remain discouraged in the area.
