"Sign Up with NHIS", Hajia Aperua Appeals as State Officials Carry out Assessment in Auchi, Igarra

Members of the public have been called upon to take advantage of the opportunity provided by the National Health Insurance Scheme to address all health related issues.

This call was made by Hajia Aminat Aperua on Thursday at the Auchi Allied Mutual Health Association Office during an assessment programme that was conducted by officials of Edo State NHIS to look into the modus operandi of the programme in the area.

Speaking on how to get into the scheme, Hajia Aminat started that the registration is free and the process is seamless. She said that all that the intending enrollee needs to do is visit the Auchi Allied Mutual Health Association office beside the Ikharo Mosque along Otaru road where the forms will be made available for registration.

"...our people should try and enrol their relatives. It is relatively cheap because it's #150 monthly, they get their ID cards and go to the Hospital where they won't be charged huge amounts as deposit before they are attended to or admitted. When they are treated, the charges they are expected to pay is only 10% of the total cost because they have been paying subscription to the NHIS."  She said.

Some enrollees who attended the assessment programme expressed elation and thanked the NHIS for the opportunity provided through it's scheme to help make health services accessible and cheap for the people to afford.

On her part, Yahaya Rekhia, the Edo State NHIS officer who carried out the assessment on enrollees in Auchi thanked the people for the cooperation and appreciated the level of acceptance while encouraging more people to sign into the scheme to engender cheap and quality health service delivery.
