Auchi Polytechnic's Moral and Dress Code Committee has conducted a rally across all areas of the institution to discourage students from the vice of immoral dressing to academic environments.
The movement which was led by the director, Centre for Gender Studies, Mrs. Okhiro Evelyn went round all the schools in Auchi Polytechnic to inform the new entrants about the institution's dress ethics and to remind old students that the fight against Indecency is still in full course.
The group employed the use of a public address system, jingles, banners and flyers to sell her message and warned that students who come to school in dresses/clothes other than what's been approved by management will not be allowed entrance into the institution and if found within the school premises, they'll be sanctioned according to the measures drawn by management to deal with dress code offenders.
Student are hereby advised to listen, learn and apply the rules of the institution in their daily lives from when they prepare to come for classes and till when then return home bearing in mind that their appearance matters a lot to the Polytechnic Community.
'Dress well, cover sensitive parts of your body, maintain your hair (which must be devoid of any abnormally), no rugged jeans, no sagged pants, no multicolored hairstyles, no show-me-your-back, no uneccessary display of tattoos, no clothes bearing obscene graphics amongst other messages were announced and it is hoped that students who know why they are in Auchi Polytechnic will obey.
