His Royal Highness, Alhaji Aliru H. Momoh, Ikelebe III, Otaru of Auchi Sacred Kingdom has ordered that those filling up Drainages with dirt be handed over to the police when caught in the act.

His Highness made this order while addressing Daudus of all villages in Auchi on Sunday at the Otaru in Council (OiC) meeting.

He stressed that such mischief should not be tolerated as it portends great danger for residents of the Kingdom and tasked the Daudus to ensure that they put measures in place to monitor the activities around Drainages in their areas.

The Monarch acknowledged the workings of the Environmental Sanitation Committee and stressed that more has to be done to deter people from throwing refuse into Drainages especially during the raining seasons as it portends health challenges and could lead to flooding.

"Laiase with the police and Local Vigilante to ensure that those who dump refuse in Drainages are arrested, charged to court and given at least  6months detention as deterrent if they fail to desist from endangering the lives and properties of our people through dumping of refuse in drainages." he said.
