NYSC, Partners Hold Free Medical Outreach in Auchi

Members of the National Youth Service Corps have organized a free medical outreach to the people of Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State on Monday.

The event took place at the Otaru's Palace in Auchi Sacred Kingdom where men, women, boys, girls, old and young were all attended to by Serving Corps members drawn from the medical field.

Services provided in the cause of the programme include but not restricted to consultations, tests for sugar levels, HIV testing, checking and documentation of vital signs, prescriptions and provision of medications as well as referrals.

The event was well attended as beneficiaries trooped into the palace premises for medical attention.

Speaking to AUCHI BLOGspot, Hajia Aperua Yusuf who was one of the coordinators of the event as well as a representative of Association of Professionals For Family Health Empowerment And Community Development (APFFHECOD) stated that the event would be of immense benefit to the people given that a lot of them had underlying conditions but lacked the wherewithal to get medical attention.

She explained that medical outreaches like this should be encouraged by those who have the capacity to do so for the benefit of the people.


Partners of the Corps Members Medical Outreach include Etsako West LGA, HRH Alhaji Aliru H. Momoh, Otaru of Auchi, the Queens, Palace Chiefs, APFFHECOD, Auchi Central Hospital, Oseni Specialist Family Clinic,  Nwobodo Pharmacy, Community members like Mrs Fatima Dankano, Alhaji Oyarekhua, Muhammed Momoh and many more.

Dignitaries who graced the occasion were the Otaru of Auchi who was represented by Chief Alhaji H.M. Momoh (Daudu 1), Hajia Aishetu Oshiomole Uwivhianetso(Mother of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole) Mrs Clara Isede (Asst Director NYSC CDS Benin) who represented the state Director and NYSC DG, Mr.John Oghiadomhe representative of the acting Chairman of Etsako West LGA etc.






Mrs. Clara Isede told AUCHI BLOGspot that she was impressed with the turn up of people and the turnout of the event. She thanked HRH Alhaji A.H. Momoh, Otaru of Auchi Sacred Kingdom together with his Chiefs for the prompt response and ample support even though the project was brought to the King's awareness late.

She seized the opportunity to call on Sons and Daughters both at home and in Diaspora to ensure that the wellbeing of those at home becomes an agendum on their agenda as well as drive home good initiatives that will better lives to the Glory of God.
