Power has been restored to residents of Iyekhei community after more than Six months of outage.

This was made known by Alhaji Aniru Garuba, Daudu of Iyekhei Village during a meeting at the Otaru's Palace on Sunday.

The Daudu whilst informing Otaru, Chiefs and stakeholders of Auchi about recent developments in his community told all that electrity has been restored to Iyekhei two days before the month of Ramadhan.

Expressing joy, he told all that his area enjoyed 13hours of uninterrupted power on Friday and this has greatly relieved the people from the inconveniences of unavailability of electrity.

However, in another development, Enaholo J.K. whilst making further enquiry discovered that though the information is true, residents of Shagadi Street have remained in the dark.

The new transformer installed to serve the community seem to have a little problem with the feeder feeding residence of Shagadi street.

A resident by name Ikharia Inu Abdulwahid told AUCHI BLOGspot on Monday that though he appreciates the efforts of Sheikh Inuhu Mukhtar, Chairman of BEDC-Comminty liaison committee at helping to restore power to Iyekhei, he is not happy that his expectations from the new development have not been met.

He noted that lack of power has gravely affected businesses in the area, particularly businesses driven by Electricity and called on the Committee headed by the newly appointed Seriki Samali of Auchi Sacred Kingdom, Sheikh Mukhtar Inuhu to do more to rectify the fault.

Speaking with the Chairman on Power related matters, Mallam Mukhtar acknowledged that the complaint has been received and gave the assurances that efforts are being geared towards eradicating the problem.
