BREAKING: EWLG Chair, Security Agencies Move to Stop Touting, Extortion & Harassment of Commuters in Auchi Sacred kingdom

Youths harassing and extorting Okada Riders have been vacated from their operational areas in Auchi Sacred kingdom.

Following numerous calls by concerned citizens, the Etsako West Local Government Area authority has given a standing order proscribing illegal activities aimed at extorting and harassing commuters along the ICE-Cemetery and Aibotse-Igbei roads of Auchi.

It was gathered that a security meeting which had in attendance the EWLG Chairman, Hon. Inusa Imonofi and his deputy, Hon. Ainakhuagbo Abduljelil together with the DPO, Auchi Police Divisional Headquarter, NSCDC and community stakeholders was held to deal decisively with the lingering ignoble trend of extortion perpetuated by some youths of Auchi Sacred kingdom.

At the end of the security meeting by stakeholders, it was decided that aside the ANNEWATT officials responsible for the sales of tickets to Okada Riders along the Cemetery road, no unauthorized, unidentified, unregistered group should be found carrying out any activities without the consent of the Local Government Authorities at the affected routes for any reason whatsoever. 

This development was confirmed by Hon. Abduljelil, EWLGA Deputy Chairman who informed Enaholo J.K. that sequel to a spotlight done on the problem of extortion perpetuated by an unknown group of youths at the Aibotse-Igbei and Cemetery axis on the platform of AUCHI BLOG during the week, positive action has been taken to eradicate the problem.

Responding to how the LG hopes to ensure that the problem never resurfaces, Hon. Abduljelil said that the boys have been warned to not return to the said places ever again as doing so would mean serious consequences from the Police. He also stated that the NSCDC together with Auchi Vigilante Squad shall deploy some of their personnel along the roads to ensure that compliance with the standing order is attained to the maximum.

"An order has been given to (NSCDC) that's Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and the Nigeria Police force to check activities along the roads mentioned and whoever is caught in such an act will be arrested and prosecuted. 

To this end, I urge the general public to take note whenever they see anyone in such nefarious activities along those areas and ensure that they report to Nigeria police force or civil defence and immediately they will get a quick response..." He Said.

Recall that Enaholo J.K. during his LIVE stream on the platform of AUCHI BLOGspot on Wednesday spoke to the issue of an unknown group of young men who have been harassing people along the areas so mentioned with a view of beaming the torch of positive change on their activities.

This together with the calls of other concerned people in the community has prompted Government at the grassroot to wake up to its responsibility of listening, planning and acting in positive light for the benefit of the people.
