Good Governance reflects in the improved living standards of the majority of the masses. It is a CHANGE from good to better for the best of a people's collectivity.
When the reverse becomes the case, a government is termed 'bad.' When from bad it nosedives into worse for the worst, a government is termed an omen!
More than 80% of the Nigerian population wallows in poverty. Under the General Muhammadu Buhari's regime since 2015, more and more people recede and are admitted not by choice into the school of poverty. More and more people loss their buying power owing to increased inflation that never goes down. More and more people loss appetite for living as many with life resort to envying the dead, taking their life to make the suffering end.
In all honesty, it cannot be said that the common man has truly gained in the exercise that brought in APC. We still hear cases of Looting, Reps and Senators demanding for Luxury vehicles and increase in their allowances, our children have stayed home longer than in any other regime as a result of Strike actions, insecurity has heightened to a new normal. We still have cases of electoral malpractices. Child trafficking and moral decay has never known lows such as recorded in the GMB's Democratic Rule.
Daily as we wake, the future Dawns on us as bleak. A recessive economy has translated into a depression in more ways than our psychology can fathom. Even our legal-tender fails frail freely like sapped leaves by the harmattan winds, unable to hold unto its own.
What's the value of 1 Naira today? Does the denomination exist anymore? What can 5Naira get you? These used to get us some sweets et'al. Soon, more denominations might slide into extinction.
Are we changing? Yes!
Towards what direction are we changing? To a disaster, in the mind and heart of the common man who lives in the poor slums and shanties that only feels the presence of government and governance during electoral or electioneering times.
2023 beckons but can we truly wait? Is there a magic waiting to happen? _one that will drastically reverse the aforementioned downsides of our current reality and make us forget all our years of retrogression?
When will it come and how?
How Long shall we or can we wait?
Well, for now, a demand holds sway in the streets of the poor, the slums of the downtrodden, the allays of the homeless, the dirt of the forgotten and the graveyards of the unrewarded. What's that demand? It is one that believes in the fact that if an employee has not performed in tandem with his/her job description and when his/her capacity is unable to remedy the problems that abound, such employee must be SACKED!
The call has been made but will General Muhammadu Buhari and his cohorts listen or scream 'HATE SPEECH?'
