Edo North’s
most popular show, Itsemhakhona was LIVE on Thursday to discuss Sallah
festivities in view of 1441AH 9th of Dhu al’Hijja which marks the day of Arafat
that precedes the Eid day in the Islamic calendar.
Matters pertaining to the modus operandi expected of Muslims were stated as Mallam Lucky Marcus informed Muslims to be of modest behavior as is expected and be generous towards the poor and needy who may not have food to feed and other basics necessities that are necessary for survival.
Issues around and about induced ram fighting, taking of illicit drugs and alcoholic substances to celebrate in the festive season formed the bulk of the day’s discourse. The aforementioned were strongly discouraged by Itsemhakhona crew who stated emphatically that it is sinful to infuse haram into any Islamic celebration as this could earn the sinner the wrath of Allah instead of His mercy in the Holy Days.

Prince Suleman Momoh |
To corroborate
these claims, Alh. Prince Suleman Momoh, the Imam II of Auchi Sacred Kingdom
who doubles as a NAHCOM Commissioner advised against acts that are capable of
undermining the relevance of the season to Muslims. Momoh who spoke over the
phone appealed to all to as a matter of importance maximize the potential of
the holy days of Dhul’Hijjah to gain Allah’s mercy and blessings as these first
10days of the Islamic Month are very rewarding in terms of good deeds.
Speaking on the need to comply with the covid-19 protocols as prescribed by World Health Organization and the National Center for Disease Control, Prince Momoh stated that all the villages in Auchi are to hold the Eid prayers in their respective Masjids so that no one single Masjid will be over crowded by Muslims which is why the Eid ground was earlier on decentralized through the order given by the Otaru that the 5heritage Villages should hold the Eid prayers at their different Mosques to forestall any chance of contaminating or transmitting the deadly corona virus disease which has brought the world to a standstill in the post months.
