GUILT GONE!

I accept that I caused you pain.

I'm well aware I erred and you got hurt.

You were disappointed at my act of shame,

Of course you were right, I did you wrong.

I must have apologized.

I must have called.

I must have reconciled

But you never took my call.

From seconds, minutes became hours and years flipped fleetingly.

Then from a kiss, moans to cries, a child giggled sheepishly.

My guilt drowned in the streams of her tears

As she meandered about before me, filled with the life from my breasts.

Alas!

Your pain matters no more.

I am not to be blamed for the hurt that should be forgone.

This peace, my baby,

Needs me more than I can care for your immaturity.

I'm a Father now.

It's a responsibility!

  1. I love this. Its touchy and emotional. Yet its selfish, but in an acceptable way. Its an apology, but by all means it is not apologetic. The party bearing the hurt would want more... more 'sorries', ... more placating,... more apologies, but will have to understand that you have effectively run out of those. The cry of baby, that heart rendering innocence of a cry, just made all else infinitesimal.
