2. A young man said to have come from SA and tested positive for covid-19 is reported to have escaped an isolation center in Benin to Ekwotsor
his home town in Bode.
He has been traced using the info he gave NCDC to his home town where he was receiving treatment in an hospital without disclosing what his true problem is.
The young together with his Father have been taken to isolation and his community quarantined.
3. Governors of the 36 states of the Federation have agreed to a 14day interstate lockdown in view of curbing the spread/transmission of the Corona viral infection. States have passed into law the compulsory use of tailor-made face masks while Edo state is placed under a 10day dusk to dawn curfew.

Almajiris have now been relocated to their various states by the Kano state government over fears of transmission of the disease.
This decision has also sparked criticisms as it is believed that these kids have the potential to transmit the viral infection to their various states from Kano.

5. Mixed reactions have continued to trail Edo State Government's claim to have spent over 1billion Naira in the fight against the Corona Virus pandemic as groups say the distribution of palliatives gifted the state by wife of the president were politicized (distribution wise)
Critiques say Government is insincere about it's true commitment to curbing the life threatening scourge _Covid-19.
