Shout-Out To EWLGA Chairman, Hon. Imonofi Inusa

A popular saying in Etsako goes thus, “orno wha r’omoh ta n’omoh, isisi lhey yor’eyhe.” This is interpreted as “one’s breasts are sucked (eaten) by ants when same fails to acknowledge the greatness of another man.” With this we have decided to acknowledge the number one citizen of Etsako West Local Government Area who has in the recent past shown that he is a people oriented individual who believes in the welfare of those entrusted to him.

The yuletide has in our sight unveiled him in many ways affiliated to nobility _a characteristic many in power have jettisoned.

The workers of Etsako West Local Government Council recently sang praises of how you paid salaries at a time when the lot of the workforce didn’t expect same. Many attested to the fact that they got alerts as early as 17th of December _an occurrence which to some is an unrealistic scene, you made possible in view of the fact that you knew your workers had needs that demanded urgent attention even though they didn’t state same. Having done this, you again (to the surprise of all and sundry) doled out bags of rice as a way of further appreciating as well as motivating the staff of EWLG to put in their best in view of moving the secretariat to enviable destinies.

Additionally, you made it a point of call to felicitate with the people on the occasion of the Celebration of the birth of Christ. You have not failed in your attempts at urging and canvassing for the people to imbibe the spirit of oneness, peace and love for one another in the festivities marking Christmas and beyond and this is justified in your message quoted bellow, 

"this auspicious occasion is a period of sober reflection for our Christian brothers and sisters to emulate the estimable way of life of Jesus Christ on the devotion to the service of God and mankind, so we can unanimously achieve a meliorate and promising society".

It is obvious that you are one who will seize whatever opportunity there is to speak words of goodness, do what must be done by employing your official and personal resources to ensure a society where the Etsako-Dream is achieved.

Furthermore, as iron sharpeneth iron, it is noteworthy to seize this opportunity to acknowledge your very own better half who in her ways have also propelled dreams towards achievement. Hajia Kadija Imonofi who happens to be the Chairperson of Women Development Programme (WDP) has in no small measure ensured that women and the girl child who constitute a constituent without whom the society ceases to exist, are prioritized in her empowerment inputs. She has not only trained and given out skill sets to women and girls in Etsako West, she has beyond that, taken these beneficiaries to the level of startups by doling out both cash and material resources necessary for establishing businesses in skills acquired through her empowerment programmes.

We are yet to fathom a name befitting her personality as words aren’t good enough to qualify her philanthropic and selfless services to mankind and this is justified in the fact that even when her counterparts elsewhere have taken out this time to rest in preparation for resumption of work after the holiday, she has again staged an event to share in the merriment and excitement of the common people. Children, Orphans, widows and more she boxed free medical check-ups, food and drinks as well as giveaways to signify the reason for the season.

In view of the above and the many more the chairman Alhaji Imonofi Inusa and his beloved wife Hajia Kadija have done within the yuletide for the people of Etsako West, we say a heartfelt Thank you! We pray that the good Lord in His infinite Grace preserves and strengthens you to carry on the mandate and meet the expectations of the people of Etsako West Local Government Area.

We shall as a change oriented medium of mass communication of information continue to beam our light on your good works in view of putting same out for the consumption of the masses and more so, not fail in our duty to constructively critique and contribute our quota of making meaningful inputs towards matters that will lift our local government to the next level where the dreams of our people will be achieved.
