Team Utsogun Crushes Aibotse FC, Remains Unbeaten

Team Aibotse suffered defeat in the hands of Utsogun fc on match day 3 at the Ikelebe Sports’ Arena yesterday the 30th of December, 2019.

It has been three straight wins for the Utsogun side since the commencement of the 9th edition of Auchi Day Football Competition on Saturday the 28th of December as they trashed Iyekhei, humiliated Akpekpe who won the 8th Edition of the competition and humbled Aibotse with a lone goal.

The goal came in at the second half of play when a strike from Tribuna was deflected by an Aibotse defender and made its way behind the goalkeeper to the net.

“I envisaged that the match was going to be tough because Aibotse lose their first match to Igbei and so I didn’t expect them to come and fold their hands. They came up strong because they knew that another loss could see them out of the tournament. Secondly, the Utsogun chaps have played three consecutive matches in a role, the players couldn’t get enough rest and as such a little fatigue crept in.  I envisaged that things would be that way before the match.

However, I thank God that we were able to get a win at the end of 90minutes of play.” said Mr. Sule Momodu Someone _the head coach of Utsogun FC. The coach also expressed confidence in his boys’ ability to scale through and eventually raise the championship cup when the competition will comes to its grande finale.

Day 3 of play also recorded a win for Iyekhei FC who took a lone goal win over team Igbei in the wake of their 9a.m clash. Bright gave Iyekhei the winning goal during the first half of the match. 

Akpekpe FC will be facing Team Iyekhei in a bid to earn some points by 4p.m on match day 4. The match will take place at the Ikelebe Sports’ Arena.
